Well I also do a lot of framing with just clip art.  Here is one I did for the WDW hat set. 
I use a program called Page Plus to do most of the clip art I use.  The first thing I do is come up with a layout.  Here I decided to highlight each pin with it's owner.  So first I made some boxes to hold the pins.
Then I add the characters for each hat...
Here is where the imagination comes in...  I saw this postcard my wife found and thought hat it would be cool to do something with this.  Well that is really were the idea for this set came from...  Well after scaning it in to my system I added it the clip art.
To hide the edges of the picture I added a backround of red to it.  What I did was just add a box around the picture and made the lines red.  Then just made the lines a little thicker and had a little frame for the picture.
I then added a title to the artwork...  It sorta says it all.
Well after printing it out I sized it up to a piece matting and then cut it down to size.
It is just a matter of putting the pins in place and then putting them in to the shadow box.
